Our Mission

The Commonwealth Corporation Foundation supports the mission of Commonwealth Corporation. The Foundation strives to achieve meaningful employment and upward mobility for all by bridging resource gaps to target unmet needs in workforce development and by empowering workers and employers in Massachusetts through strategic partnerships with the business community, organized events, and grant-making.

About Us

The goal of the Foundation is to provide financial support to Commonwealth Corporation, whose mission is to strengthen the skills of Massachusetts youth and adults by investing in innovative partnerships with industry, education, and workforce organizations. Commonwealth Corporation seeks to meet the immediate and emerging needs of businesses and workers so that they can thrive in our dynamic economy.

We create and support Workforce Development-focused convening to discuss and refine concepts for experimentation.

Developing demonstration projects that connect philanthropic dollars to innovative Workforce Development programs.

We enhance proven workforce strategies to effectively scale operations and fill gaps in proven CommCorp programs where there are unmet needs.

Alanna currently serves as the Executive Director of the Commonwealth Corporation Foundation, marrying her two passions; a deep commitment to public service and creating meaningful career opportunities for residents who are under or unemployed.

Prior to joining Commonwealth Corporation Foundation, Alanna served three terms on the Cambridge City Council from 2017 to 2023, including two terms as Vice Mayor. Since 2016, she also worked with a Cambridge based food access non-profit Food for Free, serving as Program Director, and then as Director of Government and Community Relations.
