Special Announcement: Expanded Access to WTFP Training Grants

A group of people gathers around a glass wall covered in colorful sticky notes, discussing ideas and collaborating

Since 2023, the Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP) has implemented targeted policy adjustments to sustainably manage finite resources while experiencing unprecedented levels of participation in WTFP grant programs.

As program activity has reached a more sustainable balance between demand for resources and available funding, WTFP is now able to strategically expand access and increase opportunities for Massachusetts employers to train more employees.

The following changes in policy are in effect for applications received April 1, 2026, or later:
  • The maximum Express Program reimbursement rate for employers with between 51 and 100 employees in Massachusetts has increased from 50% to 100%, up to $3,000 per person, per course.

  • The maximum General Program training grant award has increased from $125,000 to $200,000.

  • All eligible employers may now participate in both the Express and General Programs simultaneously.

These updates are designed to increase access, improve flexibility, and help employers respond more quickly to evolving workforce needs—while maintaining responsible stewardship of public resources.  For more info, please review updated guidelines, resources, and applications for WTFP grant opportunities.

If you’ve been considering training—or were previously limited by funding caps—now is a great time to apply!
