On April 3, 2014 Governor Deval Patrick and Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Rachel Kaprielian announced the 51 Health Care Workforce Transformation Fund Planning Grants at Lynn Community Health Center. The Planning Grants will help healthcare providers develop a training strategy to address workforce challenges caused by the rapidly evolving healthcare industry. Service Employees Internal Union (SEIU) 1199 received a $37,400 grant to partner with Lynn Community Health Center, Union Hospital, and North Shore Medical Center. The grant allows these organizations to develop a training program for frontline workers to gain skills in safety and effectively managing interactions with patients who may have behavioral issues.
